Directors voted to establish a foundation for the
purpose of funding research to
the benefit of industry. The WBFI Research
Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)3
organization.
Food and Feeder Preferences of Wild Birds in the United States and Canada
WBFI Research Foundation announces the inaugural scientific research project to learn the bird feed and feeder preferences of North American wild birds. This study will give the industry the scientific data needed to provide bird feed and feeder products to consumers according to the thirteen geographic regions in the United States and Canada to be included in the study. This will be a huge marketing advantage to the industry and the consumers who purchase bird feeding products.
The research project began on September 22, 2005 and continues until September 20, 2008. Throughout the study, PROJECT WILDBIRD will accept both Experimental and Observational Citizen Scientists from all geographic regions being studied. Enrollment as either an Observational or an Experimental citizen scientist is managed through the PROJECT WILDBIRD website.
