BROME BIRD CARE’s Squirrel Buster Classic™ wins Birdwatch America’s “BEST NEW PRODUCT” Award.

This is the first time in the history of this trade show that the coveted prize has been awarded twice to the same company.

Birdwatch America is the largest trade show of its kind, each January drawing manufacturers of birding and bird-related products from around the world to Atlanta, Georgia.  The more than 2000 retailers who visit the show determine the winner of the annual “Best New Product” contest.  In 2002, Brome Bird Care’s first entry, the Squirrel Buster PlusÔ, was the first Canadian recipient of this prize.  This year, the company walked away with the award for the second time with its new addition to the Squirrel Buster family of squirrel-proof bird feeders, the Squirrel Buster Classic.  Brome Bird Care was presented with the sought after award at the industry’s annual banquet on January 14, 2006, in Atlanta.

Openings in the wire shroud align with the seed ports, allowing the birds access to the seed.  When a squirrel lands on the feeder, its weight automatically forces the wire shroud down, closing the seed ports and denying access to the seed.  All squirrels and many large birds are foiled, but not harmed in any way.  The wire shroud makes this feeder attractive to both clinging and perching birds.  Perches can be removed to deter larger birds.

The Squirrel Buster Classic holds 1.4 quarts of seed and dismantles easily, without tools, for trouble-free cleaning.
