Erva Tool & Mfg. Co. Inc., Acquires Nature House Inc. and it’s Affiliate, The Nature Society

CHICAGO, IL., 01-NOV-2006   Erva today announced the acquisition of Griggsville IL. based Nature House Inc., the leading manufacturer of aluminum Purple Martin houses, from company founder J.L. Wade.  Nature House pioneered the aluminum Martin house in 1962, and continues to manufacture the most comprehensive product line.

Erva, a leading manufacturer of support hardware to the bird feeding industry, makes products which include decorative hooks, hangers, poles, baffles and other hardware items for the installation of birdfeeders and garden and deck accessories.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Erva to offer its customers tangible benefits of the natural world. Installing a Purple Martin house is mutually beneficial.  While the Purple Martin has come to depend on man-made housing for its survival, we derive a benefit from the Martin’s appetite for insects. Martins have a proven track record for reducing insect populations where they are a nuisance, such as at golf courses or around the home.” said Erwin Heyek, President of Erva.

All Erva nature related products will now be marketed under the Nature House label. Nature House Inc. products will continue to be produced in the United States at Erva’s manufacturing facility in Chicago.
