Victim of Tragic Rhode Island Nightclub Fire Has Industry Ties Tracy Romanoff was among the 97 people killed in the fire that destroyed the Station Night Club in West Warwick, Rhode Island on February 20th. Tracy was the former wife of Jordan Blasbalg and the mother of two children: Joshua, age 10 and Lindsey, age 8. The Blasbalg family is well known in the lawn and garden and birding communities for originating and developing K-Feeders; an internationally known line of bird feeders. Jordan Blasbalg, and his brothers Larry and Paul are familiar faces to many of you who have attended industry trade shows over the years. The fire broke out Thursday evening, at 11 PM as the band, "Great White", took the stage in a packed hall in front of a pyrotechnics display that went terribly wrong. In only a matter of minutes the fire completely engulfed the wooden building in flames. There were approximately 350 people in the building attending the concert, aside from the 97 who lost their lives, 30 made it to safety with minor cuts and burns and 187 were seriously or critically injured with many still remaining in area hospitals. A trust fund has been established to help Tracy and Jordan's two children. All contributions are appreciated and should be made payable to the Joshua M. & Lindsey N. Blasblag Trust and mailed to P.O. Box 7, Narragansett, RI 02882. For additional information contact: Larry Blasblag at 401-782-4274 (email: bb7393@aol.com) or Marty Gottlieb at 845-986-6776 (email: ashcreek@optonline.net). |
