Happy New Year - A Letter from the WBFI Research Foundation President

WBFI Community,

As we step into the promising days of 2024, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for entrusting me with the role of President of the WBFI Research Foundation (RF). It has been an incredible journey serving in this capacity over the past year, and I am humbled to be part of a team comprising exceptionally talented individuals—the esteemed Trustees of the Research Foundation.

I take pride in working alongside dedicated individuals such as Jody Locke, Emma Bennett, Courtenay Bunner, Rob Gunstone, Matt Young, Dejan Bordjan, Holly Merker, Stephanie Egger, and Brian Cunningham. Their collective experience, knowledge, and guidance have been instrumental in steering us in the right direction, and I am eager to carry that momentum into the coming year.

Looking back at 2023, it seems like the year simply flew by (pun intended!). In celebrating our achievements, I want to acknowledge the various projects we've undertaken—some completed, others recently initiated and in progress, and a few that we aim to explore soon. None of this would have been possible without the generous donations from members like you, which go above and beyond your annual dues. These funds are crucial in supporting research initiatives focused on ensuring the well-being of wild bird populations, and we are immensely grateful for your contributions.

As we enter this new year, I encourage you all to take some extra time to cherish moments with your family, co-workers, and friends. Your ongoing support is integral to the success of the WBFI Research Foundation, and we hope you continue to stand with us in our mission.

Wishing you a prosperous New Year filled with joy and fulfillment!

Sincerely,
